Ammunition and Dozens of Firearms for West Papua Separatists Seized

The Damai Cartenz 2025 Task Force, consisting of the Papua Regional Police, the Yogyakarta Special Region Police, and the East Java Police, Indonesia, seized 3,573 rounds of ammunition and 17 homemade firearms intended for West Papua Separatists in Puncak Jaya District, Central Papua Province, Indonesia. Investigations reveal that the illegal items originated from Bojonegoro, East Java.
As a result of this discovery, the East Java Police arrested three individuals from Bojonegoro involved in the illegal sale of firearms and ammunition. The police identified the three suspects as Teguh Wiyono (52) and Mukhamad Kamaludin (30), both residents of Bojonegoro, and Pujiono (46), a resident of Tuban.
This operation unfolded after Papua Police apprehended Eko and Yuni Enembi, former members of the Indonesian Army. Authorities suspect both individuals of providing funds and purchasing firearms in Puncak Jaya district for West Papua Separatists. The investigation exposed that the homemade firearms came from a network based in Bojonegoro.
Grand Commissioner M. Farman, Director of General Crime Investigation of Regional Police East Java, stated that the group of homemade firearm manufacturers in Bojonegoro initially received an order from West Papua. The individuals who placed the order even visited East Java to inspect the manufacturing site in person.
Following the arrests of Eko and Yuni in Papua, the East Java Regional Police subsequently arrested Teguh Wiyono at his residence in Kalianyar Citra Modern Housing Complex, Bojonegoro, along with the other two suspects, on Saturday, May 8, 2025. “Our investigation reveals that the individuals illegally and secretly manufactured and repaired firearms and air weapons,” said M. Farman.
Farman explained that, based on the investigation, this group had only conducted one transaction involving the sale of firearms to West Papua Separatists in Puncak Jaya district, Papua. They had sent approximately six firearms.
“The investigation confirms that they made one shipment using a modified compressor casing. They cut the compressor, divided the firearms into several pieces, placed them inside along with ammunition, and shipped them using an expedition service. Papua Police confiscated six firearms. The single transaction amounted to 1.3 billion rupiah,” M. Farman clarified.
