Raider Infantry Battalion 323/ White Crocodile of the Indonesian Army Strategic Reserve Command participated in a series of activities to welcome Christmas in Kago Village, Ilaga District, Puncak Regency, Central Papua Province, West Papua. Currently, they tasked as a security force in the Indonesia-Papua New Guinea border area.

Raider Infantry Battalion Commander 323/ White Crocodile Lieutenant Colonel Tri Wiratno said that one of the series of activities carried out by the local community was the Christmas Gate Service. The activity was carried out together with the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum and the Kago Village community. “The Christmas Gate Service activity was carried out as a series of preparations to welcome the Christmas celebration,” said Tri.

He ensured that the Christmas celebration in Puncak Regency, especially in the Ilaga District area, took place safely and peacefully. The soldiers of the Raider Infantry Battalion 323/ White Crocodile carried out regional security as well as possible. In between these tasks, they supported various activities carried out by the community.

Including the Christmas Gate Service which is an annual routine agenda for the Ilaga District community. “Therefore, since the beginning of their assignment, the soldiers of the 323rd Infantry Battalion/White Crocodile have routinely carried out social communication with religious leaders and local community leaders. This Christmas Gate Service was attended by a number of important figures, including the TNI Task Force, police officers, local government, religious leaders, and the local community,” explained Tri.

The activity took place at the Nagelar Hall, Kampung Kago 10 December 2024. Acting Regent of Puncak Regency Nenu Tabuni also appreciated the presence of the Indonesian Army in a series of events welcoming Christmas in his area. “This is real proof that the government and all security elements are united in supporting the Papuan people in every aspect of life, including spiritually. This presence provides a sense of security and comfort for residents who celebrate Christmas,” he said.

Separately, the Commander of the Habema Operations Command, Brigadier General of the Indonesian Army Lucky Avianto, said that the steps taken by the Raider/323 Crocodile White Infantry Battalion in Kago Village, Ilaga District, Puncak Regency were a reflection of the Indonesian Army’s enthusiasm to participate in developing Papua. “This is an implementation of the Indonesian Army’s duties in inclusive social communication with all parties to support the acceleration of development in the West Papua region,” said Lucky.
