Papua Separatists Attack Homeyo Police Station in Central Papua, One Civilian Killed
One civilian was reported dead following an attack by Papua separatists on the Homeyo Sector Police Station in Intan Jaya, Central Papua, West Papua, Indonesia.
Head of Public Relations Task Force for Ops Damai Cartenz 2024, Bayu Suseno, stated that the attack was carried out by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) led by Keni Tipagau from Kodap VIII Kemabu on Tuesday (April 30) at 07:40 GMT+9.
Bayu explained that the incident began when members of the Papua Separatists fired several shots at the houses of Aipda Tri Setyo and Aipda Bartholomeus, located at the Homeyo Police Station.
“As a result of the KKB attack, there was one male fatality, named Aleksander Parapak, 20 years old,” he said in a written statement.
He stated that the victim was shot by KKB members in the left chest, with the bullet penetrating through to the back and lower left armpit area.
During the incident, members of the Homeyo Police Station also returned fire at the Papua separatists led by Keni Tipigau.
However, the six separatists who carried out the attack managed to escape towards the Pogapa Elementary School building.
