The 2024 Election in West Papua Indonesia was successful, safe and peaceful. Starting from the initial stage to voting. This was conveyed by the Head of the Cartenz Peace Task Force, Police Commissioner Faizal Ramadhani. “The general election process from the initial stages to voting went well without any interference from separatists,” said Faizal.
The Cartenz Peace Task Force mapped nine areas that were categorized as vulnerable. Faizal said the nine areas include; Yahukimo, Mimika, Intan Jaya, Dogiyai, Puncak, Nduga, Mimika, Jayawijaya and Jayapura districts.
However, in these areas there were no disturbances in the area from the initial stages to voting. “We are monitoring the security and social security situation in nine operational areas, the distribution of election logistics and the voting process are running well,” said Faizal.
Meanwhile, Head of Peace Cartenz Public Relations, Bayu Suseno, said that his troops remained in the area. It was also stated that the Cartenz Peace Task Force was assisting the Mantap Brata Operation Task Force. “Yes, that’s right, we from the Cartenz 2024 Peace Operation personnel to this day continue to alert our personnel to strengthen colleagues who are members of Operation Mantap Brata,” said Bayu Suseno.
Bayu realized that the success of the elections in Papua could not be separated from the big contribution of the Papuan people. For this reason, he expressed his gratitude to all the Papuan people who contributed to the success of the 2024 elections. “(Thank you) for your good cooperation so that security is maintained and this democratic party can run well, safely and smoothly,” concluded Bayu Suseno.

In the meeting, the Chairman of the General Election Commission for Papua Province, Steve Dumbon, announced plans for implementing additional voting, re-voting and follow-up voting which will be held at 31 polling stations spread across Jayapura City, Keerom Regency, Sarmi, Mamberamo Raya, Biak Numfor and Regency.
