Since being appointed as act of Ndunga Regent, Edison Gwijangge has regularly visited districts in Nduga Regency, Papua Mountain Province, West Papua, Indonesia. Edison Gwijangge’s style that made Egianus Kogoya angry

To the person holding Susi Air pilot Philips Mark Merthens hostage, Kogoya threatened to shoot the regent official. If not, immediately stop this leadership style. “Stop, or I’ll shoot you,” threatened Egianus.

However, the West Papua Regional Police Chief, Mathius D Fakhiri, responded calmly to this threat. Mathius encouraged the Regent not to pay attention to the threat of this crime. “No need to be afraid. Leave security issues to the authorities. “We will never be afraid, we will never back down again in facing the Papuan KKB,” said Mathius D Fakhiri.

Mathius D Fakhiri said that Egianus Kogoya’s threat was just an expression of stress from the leadership of the West Papua Separatists. Because Edison Gwijangge has taken the right steps to develop that area. Closeness to the community, diligently going to the villages is proof of the leader’s seriousness in building the future of the community and the region.

Edison Gwijangge continues to visit districts in Nduga Regency. Edison’s work visits always used a plane, in this case a helicopter.

Edison Gwijangge’s visit disrupted the West Papua Separatist movement, especially under the leadership of Egianus Kogoya.

However, due to threats to state officials, the West Papua Regional Police Chief ordered all District Police to continue to increase law enforcement for the sake of public security and peace. especially in separatis prone areas of Papua, including Nduga Regency,

“Just leave it alone if you are threatened. For those who are leaders, threats like that are normal. Don’t be threatened and the Regent’s Officials run away from their place of duty. That’s not good. “The impact will be very big,” he said.

The impact contained in it, said the West Papua Regional Police Chief, is that development implementation will definitely be disrupted. Likewise, services to the community will definitely be disrupted.

“So, Nduga Regent Officials, don’t be afraid. Continue to work optimally to serve the community. And leave security matters to the Indonesian Army and Police. “Leave safety issues to the security forces,” he said.

For your information, Egianus Kogoya is the leader of the West Papua separatist Kodap III Ndugama. Since taking Susi Air Philips pilot Mark Merthens hostage on February 7 2023, until now Egianus has rarely presented himself to the public in the Papua Mountain Province. Likewise the pilot he was holding hostage.

For the last eight months, the pilot from New Zealand has still been held hostage by the group. In fact, the pilot was always taken wherever Egianus Kogoya moved.
