West Papua has a wide variety of plants and animals. One of them is Rabon Bi. This fruit is rare and only found in Papua.

This fruit with another name ‘keben’ is shaped like guava of Java Apple. This green fruit has a kind of hard seed inside. Inside the shell is a seed that is hard, slimy and white.

Even though it is referred to as a fruit, most Papuans do not consume it as food, Papuans use this green fruit.

Rabon bi is often used for its starch as an eye medicine, such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and cataracts.
